Interview with Melanie Sawla

Melanie is a Senior Sales Executive at Isprava and believes that joining us was her destiny! She’s an avid traveler and loves to eat; making her perfect for our team.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you end up at Isprava?
Born and brought up in Mumbai, I completed my schooling from J.B. Petit High School for Girls and got my college degree from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics.  I’m a CA and lawyer by profession. Prior to joining Isprava, I was working as a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young LLP in the Indirect Tax profile for 3 years. I knew it wasn’t my calling and decided to a make the switch.

I absolutely love traveling, and use all my vacation days to see a new country every year and meet new people from all over. I make detailed itineraries for each city I travel, trying to spend as much time soaking in the local culture. Besides traveling, I love watching TV shows- ‘The Office’ is my absolute favourite. I also help my sister out with marketing her product i.e. handcrafted popsicles under the brand name ‘Paleteria’

I honestly think I was meant to be at Isprava. I pushed myself through 3 years of something I absolutely hated and finally decided I could not go on any longer. I applied to a bunch of profiles outside my comfort zone and Isprava just happened to fit what I was looking for perfectly.

What is your role here?
My role at Isprava is of a Senior Sales Executive. It involves developing and maintaining relationships with customers, real estate agents and firms. My profile also includes researching and experimenting with new and innovative ways to sell, and visit the project development site to conduct on-site sales.

What is your favourite part of your role?
My favourite part at Isprava is to meet new people; interact with people from all walks of life who have achieved incredible things in their respective fields and learn from them.

Tell us a little bit about the culture at the office?
I would describe Isprava’s office culture as friendly, young, enthusiastic and passionate. Every employee who works at Isprava is here because they WANT to be here.

Were you always inclined toward the luxury space? If so, how do you feel it evolving in India now?
The luxury space is an aspirational one.  Like most people, I too aspire to enjoy better goods and services than I currently do. I’ve always been intrigued by how this space functions and that’s one of the reasons that drew me to Isprava.

With middle and upper middle-class incomes steadily rising there are going to be more people consuming luxury goods and services in India. The HNI and UHNI keep setting the bar higher and I don’t see that slowing down anytime soon.

Are you more a beach person who loves the energy of Goa or the tranquil calm of the lush Nilgiris?
I have been to Goa multiple times and felt I am a beach person as I love the energy there. However, post my visit to the Nilgiris I can say with conviction that in 30 years, that’s where you would find me, enjoying my retired life.

What does luxury mean to Isprava?
What do you provide a person who has it all? Luxury at Isprava means exceeding such expectations and providing something they do not even know they want until they experienced it with Isprava. Creating experiences and offering customers the true and greatest luxuries of time, family and human relationships.
