Interview with Ronak Mody

With a strong background in architecture, Ronak joined Isprava as an interior designer, last year in the month of September. With a balanced, well-developed aesthetic, Ronak has been integral in the development of many of our homes and continues to be a delight to work with.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you end up at Isprava?
Having done my architecture, I previously worked with architectural firms where I had an opportunity to design, and provide creative inputs for various commercial, residential, heritage redevelopment and sustainable projects. In addition, I wanted to learn more about interior designing. My curiosity towards interiors and aesthetic architecture led me to Isprava. Other than that, the vision of Nibhrant Shah and his zeal to work towards it, inspired me to take a plunge into the Isprava family.

What is your role here?
My role in Isprava is of an in-house interior designer. My scope involves making sure that the interiors of the villa are aesthetically true as envisaged by the external interior designers.

What is your favourite part of your role?
The most favourite part about my role is the diversity I get exposed to. My job profile does not limit me to work with just one interior designer; in fact, it allows me to penetrate the creative minds of various interior designers from different fields. The benefit of working with Isprava is that the knowledge of every associated field besides architecture is yours for taking, may it be the execution and management aspect or the commercials.

Tell us a little bit about the culture at the office?
I would define the Isprava culture to be friendly and transparent with every person being accessible. The environment is full of energy and enthusiasm that it makes every day really exciting.

Were you always inclined toward the luxury space? If so, how do you feel it evolving in India now?
It is not about inclination towards the luxury space but completing the spectrum. I believe one should grasp and enrich one’s knowledge.

According to me, luxury is not only about exuberance but comfort with subtle elegance. With an increase in the buying power in India, more and more people are inclined towards having a second home that rids them off the daily hustle and grind.

Are you more a beach person who loves the energy of Goa or the tranquil calm of the lush Nilgiris?
Having been involved majorly with projects in Goa, the energy has grown in me. Beaches have always attracted me. But serenity and calmness, such that the Nilgiris have, is something that I sought. Nature in any form has always been my fascination.

What does luxury mean to Isprava?
Luxury for Isprava is aesthetic excellence delivered in time at a serene location.
