Interview with Simone Dubash

Simone is one of Isprava’s newest faces but has become pretty popular for the amazing chicken tikka biryani and dhansak that she brings for lunch. Apart from her mother’s expert culinary skills, we’ve also learnt that Simone hates numbers and loves the beach. Read on to see what this sales and marketing executive thinks about her job, the luxury industry and more.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you end up at Isprava?
I am a mass media graduate, I specialised in advertising from Mithibai College. I have done a lot of internships in different fields – costumes for the film Bangistan, client servicing at Ogilvy and Mather, and served as Assistant Director at Coconut Films but I had never thought of getting into real estate. Isprava was conducting a campus placement, and it kind of snowballed from there. I was pretty nervous during the process but it somehow worked out!

What is your role here?
I have been hired as a Marketing and Sales Executive but with Isprava being a fairly young company, I get to do a little bit of everything.

What is your favourite part of your role?
The amount of learning that happens here at Isprava is insane. I used to hate numbers but here at Isprava – we have kind of bonded! I get to meet and talk to such amazing people.  I think the favourite part of my role is that it has made me grow as an individual.

Tell us a little bit about the culture at the office?
According to me, Isprava is like a family. Everyone is trying to push each other to their maximum potential. Have you heard of any company’s CEO taking out time and sitting with the new recruits (who have come straight from college with no work experience at all?) I bet not! Here at Isprava, Nibhrant takes time out, every Monday and sits with me to discuss how my week went, takes feedback from me and gives me feedback as well. He has given me reading material too, which he discusses with me and asks about my thoughts on it. Although it’s only been a little less than three months, I think that I’ve learnt more in that time than I could have in a year!

What do you feel about the luxury space in India? How are consumer perspectives changing?
The luxury space is definitely growing at a very rapid pace in India. People live such a stressful life in the cities that luxury has come to mean peace of mind and comfort more than anything. I think this is why Isprava connects with customers so well.

Are you more a beach person who loves the energy of Goa or the tranquil calm of the lush Nilgiris?
Definitely a beach person.

What does luxury mean to Isprava?
Luxury at Isprava is giving our customers a stress-free experience.
