Villa Kefi — Life Under the Banyan

Vagator is one of those parts of North Goa that has held onto itself. The cliffs, the green, the particular quietness that sits between the more familiar stretches of the coast. Life here moves differently — and once you have been, it is hard to settle for less.

Pool Area

Villa Kefi sits within this. A home inspired by the chateaux of France, expressed through arched openings, colonial mouldings and a Goan-Portuguese sensibility that feels entirely at ease in Vagator. At the rear of the property, a large banyan tree anchors the landscape. The villa sits in its foreground, and the two feel like they have always belonged together.

Living Area

The entrance portico draws you in quietly, a corridor leading to a living room with grand windows that bring the outside in. From there, the sit-out opens to a reflective pool that mirrors the banyan beyond — a moment that takes a second to take in. Beneath the tree, a dining grove sits in its own shade, the kind of place where a meal stretches naturally into an evening.

Dining Area

Four bedrooms sit across the ground and first floor, each with ensuite closets and bathrooms. A Juliet balcony on the upper level looks out onto the green. The terrace above is open and easy — unhurried in the way that Vagator tends to make everything feel.

Bedroom

North Goa has many versions of itself. Villa Kefi is one of the better ones to come home to. The banyan, the arches, the pool — it all comes together slowly, and stays with you after.
